Awamoa Walkway |
Although this track mainly follows streets from Awamoa Park to Lookout Point, the walk includes natural features like native bush and trees, alongside exotic trees, bushes, plants and flowers. The bush provides a home for insects, bugs, birds and hedgehogs. These environmental features attract tourists and people who live in town to take the walk. Detouring through the old cemetery is of interest to historians and people interested in history. The track is a two-hour return trip. It has some obstacles such as steps, tree roots and turnstiles. It is not suitable for scooters or cars, but it is suitable for prams, wheelchairs, bikes and people walking dogs. If elderly and disabled people have help then it is okay for them. Awamoa Hike is mainly suitable for moderately fit people because it is quite long and hilly. Employment associated with this walkway includes jobs such as advertising, mowing grass, rubbish removal and maintenance of vehicle tracks. |
